Vietnam
July 2004: Joshua Gordon, Vice President of Democracy Council and member of the board of directors, traveled to Vietnam to meet with representatives of local non-governmental organizations to discuss how Democracy Council might be of assistance in increasing their capacity to communicate with one another using up to date technology. A coordination of interests and strategys for building a more open space for NGOs to operate is critical to the independence of civil society in Vietnam. Democracy Council, in cooperation with local NGOs, has begun to explore how best to move toward that long term goal.
