James Prince to Moderate “Privatizing the Peace Process: Market Solutions”
Los Angeles, CA, 14 April 2005: The Democracy Council announced today that James Prince, President, will moderate an invitation only roundtable discussion on “Privatizing the Peace Process: Market Solutions to the Middle East Conflict” on Tuesday, 19 April 05, during the annual conference of the Milken Institute (www.milkeninstitute.org) in Los Angeles.
Discussants for the session include Salam Fayyad, Minister of Finance for the Palestinian Authority (invited); Jafar Hassan, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Jordan; and Moshe Tery, Chairman, Israel Securities Authority
In this roundtable, the Milken Institute convenes prominent US, Palestinian, Israeli, Jordanian, and Egyptian business leader to discuss how local and international business can play a role in economic development and opportunity in the Palestinian territories. While hopes for peace remain, a consensus is building that any durable solution must be predicated upon improving the quality of life of Palestinians. This session will consist of a candid and productive exchange on how to finance economic development and job creation to create the economic conditions for conflict resolution.
