The Economic Road Map:
Beyond the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict:

By Glenn Yago and James Prince

July 2005

Democracy Council President James Prince's policy brief entitled "The Economic Road Map: Beyond the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict," co-authored by Glenn Yago, is now available for purchase at the Milken Institute website.

Authors James Prince and Glenn Yago argue that economic development in the Israeli-Palestinian region can lay the foundation for lasting peace. Defined by common economic interests, an economic road map includes separating the Palestinian economy from that of Israel, creating transparency within Palestinian financial markets, and introducing new investment risk capital.

"Privatization" of the peace process may create incentives to cease violence and encourage peace through prosperity for both sides, which past attempts have failed.

to access the policy brief in its full: one can access the Milken Institute website, www.milkeninstitute.org, or one can go directly to: http://www.milkeninstitute.org/publications/publications.taf?function=detail&ID=456&cat=PBriefs

One can access  "Digging Out: The Economics of Palestinian independence," also by James Prince and Glenn Yago in the Milken Institute's 3rd Quarter Review 2005.
