James Prince

Jim Prince is the founder and president of the Democracy Council where he has developed and managed projects in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Prior to starting the Democracy Council, Jim was a Director with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Financial Advisory Services where he developed engagements in the US and the Middle East, including an international corruption investigation of the Palestine Investment Bank. Jim’s governmental experience includes serving as a senior professional staff member for the House International Relations Committee. He also worked as a foreign policy advisor dealing during the 1992 Clinton presidential campaign and in the Middle East Studies department at the Council on Foreign Relations. He managed a National Endowment for Democracy grant to establish a public policy institute at a university in northern Iraq. He was the only American to attend the first meeting of the Iraqi opposition in Iraq during 1993. Jim participated in various multi-national missions, including missions in South Africa, Cambodia, and Northern Iraq, and led a congressional-staff fact-finding mission to India and Pakistan.

Jim’s work on reform projects has been widely covered in the regional and international press, including a feature on CBS 60 Minutes. His articles have appeared in such publications as: the Christian Science Monitor, Conflict Studies, Current Affairs, Daily Star, Detroit News, Forbes, Forward, Houston Chronicle, Jerusalem Post, LA Daily News, Newsday, SF Chronicle, Terrorism Violence and Insurgency, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Times.

Jim Prince received a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles, and a M.A. from George Washington University. He studied at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
